Whitney Smith, Au.D.

Dr. Smith completed her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia, where she also went on to complete her Master’s degree in Audiology. She obtained her Doctoral degree in Audiology from Salus University and has been practicing audiology in this area for 15 years.

Prior to joining the team at Johnson Audiology, Dr. Smith was employed at a multi-physician Ear, Nose, and Throat practice in Dalton, Georgia, where she performed hearing diagnostics, balance assessments, and rehabilitation for both children and adults. She enjoys getting to know her patients on both a professional and personal level, and looks forward to all the relationships she will establish with her patients as part of the Johnson Audiology team.

Dr. Smith is licensed by the state of Tennessee and the state of Georgia as an audiologist. She is a fellow member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology, as well as, the American Academy of Audiology.

She was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia, where she currently resides with her two boys. Dr. Smith is also certified as an athletic instructor and enjoys exercise and fitness. When not at work she spends her time hanging out with her boys, working out, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Megan Johnson Au.D.

Dr. Megan Johnson and her husband, Derek, opened Johnson Audiology in the fall of 2009. They set out to build a team of professionals dedicated to improving patients' success with hearing aids.  

Dr. Johnson obtained her BS degree (Communication Disorders) from Western Carolina University, Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD) from the University of Florida. Dr. Johnson holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She is board certified by the American Board of Audiology (ABA).

Dr. Johnson volunteers her services at local assisted living facilities and provides educational seminars at senior centers. Dr. Johnson specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of hearing loss and tinnitus. She can service and clean all brands of hearing aids. Dr. Johnson is nationally accredited and certified with the most recent advances in hearing aid technology.

Courtney Guthrie, Au.D.

Dr. Courtney Guthrie received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Mississippi in 2004. She graduated with her Doctoral degree of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Memphis in 2009. 
Dr. Guthrie specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, and sound sensitivity. Dr. Guthrie has been a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology since 2009. She received Board Certification in Audiology from the American Board of Audiology in 2014. Dr. Guthrie is the Past President of the Tennessee Academy of Audiology and a member of the Tennessee Academy of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Foundation Board. She is excited about working with Audiologists in the state of Tennessee and to be the voice for our profession. She is passionate about our abilities to serve our patients and hopes to see us move towards more autonomous roles as healthcare providers. 
Courtney is married to John Guthrie and they have two daughters, Ella Parker and Anna Kate. They moved to Chattanooga in 2010. They love living in Chattanooga and all the city has to offer. They are members of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. They enjoy traveling, hiking, and camping.

Susan Porter, Au.D.

Susan Porter earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2003 and completed her Master of Arts degree in Audiology in 2006. She received her clinical Doctorate of Audiology, Au.D, from the University of Tennessee in May of 2008.

Prior to joining Johnson Audiology, Dr. Porter worked for a multi-physician ENT office in Knoxville, TN and then most recently worked with the largest audiology-owned private practice in Atlanta. Dr. Porter enjoys the private practice setting because it allows for more thorough attention for individual patients and is thrilled to be a part of the Johnson Audiology team.

Dr. Porter is licensed by the state of Tennessee and Georgia as an audiologist. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Porter was born and raised in East Tennessee and currently resides in Chattanooga with her husband and two daughters.
